Gangadhar Rao and Laxmibai are shocked when they get the news that the king of Sambalpur has passed away and that the East India Company will annex it. Jankibai taunts Laxmibai that they should think of Jhansi instead of Sambalpur. Gangadhar Rao gets angry at her comment and asks her to clarify. Jankibai taunts that what was most important at that moment was to get an heir for Jhansi. Laxmi Bai has no option but to keep quiet and bear the humiliation. Ellis tells Nelson that he has come to repair the image of East India Company. Laxmibai sees Ganga trying to climb the 'Malkhamb' pole. Daima pleads to Laxmibai to pardon Ganga's audacity.
