Unable to bear the grief of Bithur being taken over by the British, the ailing Bajirao breathes his last. Giving 24 hours to surrender, Manson leaves the palace. Demanding tax, Manson does not allow Nana Saheb to immerse Bajirao's ashes in the river. Laxmi Bai declares war.
