Overview

Gangadhar brings a portrait of Manu and announces before the court his decision to wed Manu. Tatya Tope brings the Peshwa's gift for Gangadhar, and he accepts it wholeheartedly. Gangadhar answers Sakhu's query, saying that he accepts the Peshwa's wishes. Gangadhar summons Moti to the court to ask her to leave the court. Manu visits Manson after realising that it was he who tried to kill her. She tells him that no one will pay him taxes and informs him about her vow to drive the Britons away.
