The young couple Emma and Felix move into a dilapidated property. They only learn that the place is haunted when Emma suffers a near-fatal electric shock. Emma unexpectedly inherits an old mansion and moves in with Felix, unaware that it is inhabited by ghosts. The ghosts eye the couple curiously β until they learn that their home is to be converted into a hotel. To prevent this, the ghosts plan to drive the new owners away by haunting them. But the two are unimpressed and begin renovating. Emma has a serious accident that almost kills her. When she returns from the hospital, she suddenly sees ghosts!
After the accident, Emma comes into contact with the ghosts. She seeks a way to come to terms with her ghostly roommates. Emma and Felix are gradually running out of money, and the renovation work on the Donnerhall house is stalled. Felix lends a helping hand, but Emma is still reeling from her accident. Horrified, she realizes that the ghosts haunting the house are not her imagination. She would prefer to leave the property immediately, but the young couple cannot afford to move. The situation seems hopeless for everyone, until Emma makes a bold suggestion.
The discovery of a historic bullet brings the story of Ghost Friedrich to light. But his embellishments distort what really happened. While working at Donnerhall House, Felix accidentally finds an antique pistol bullet, which causes great excitement. He recognizes it as the bullet that once shot him. During renovations, a construction worker disappears. The case brings the police to the house, who begin investigating a suspected crime. Donnerhall House is still a construction site. Felix and Emma's renovation costs are getting out of control. Suddenly, the police show up at their door, investigating one of the construction workers. But he seems to have disappeared. Has her home been the scene of a crime? Thanks to Emma's ability to see ghosts, she knows more than she'd like. She has to be careful not to let anything slip in front of the inspector. The ghosts try to help the couple as best they can.
Haus Donnerhall is rented out as a wedding venue because Emma and Felix desperately need money. But the ceremony goes differently than expected. The property serves as the backdrop for a wedding reception. Because Emma and Felix urgently need the money, they give their all to make the event a success and support wedding planner Tim to the best of their ability. But on the big day, the bride gets cold feet β the wedding is in danger of being called off. And Emma and Felix also plunge into a deep relationship crisis. The ghosts are called upon to provide their full support.
