"It only takes one generation to lose a spiritual legacy." This is why it is so important that we pass on a godly legacy to our children. Be encouraged and pass on the faith to your children.
If we want our children to be able to stand, they need to know how to think foundationally from God's Word and be able to defend the Christian faith. "How are we encouraging the coming generations to be thinking foundationally?" From the Equipping Families to Stand conference, apologist Ken Ham speaks on the importance of a firm foundation. He explains that generations of our kids have been brought up with a very secularized worldview.
"To equip your child to love others, train them to love God by respecting the dignity and value of those he created." What are the important relationships that your child will have? As parents, how can we equip our children for these relationships? Dennis Rainey addresses parents, friends, your child's future spouse, and even a pet parakeet. But he shares that the most important relationship to prepare your child for is his relationship with Christ.
"God develops character in us by pursuing us with his transforming love and by teaching us through the Bible how to live." Dennis Rainey shares the steps to building character in one’s children. Sharing stories from his own parenting, along with clips with his wife, Barbara, be encouraged in your parenting as you are equipped with practical, biblical instruction.
"Since our children are image bearers of God, they are works of God created for a purpose." Dennis covers the tough topic of dealing with identity in children as image bearers of God. Finally, he concludes with letting go as they go off into the spiritual battlefield.
"When parents have surrendered to Christ and his sacrificial love, they will lead their home intentionally and purposefully." As parents to six children and cofounders of FamilyLife, Dennis and Barbara Rainey have identified the things every child needs the most from their parents. The first of Rainey's four Equipping Families messages will challenge parents in raising children in a Christ-centered home.
"These are days when you need to know what you believe about these major issues in our culture." Learn from these two fathers and grandfathers who have done their best to pass on a legacy to their children and their children’s children. Hosted by Bryan Osborne.
