Gegar Vaganza 7 or Gegar Vaganza 2020 (The New Norm) featuring 14 participants from Malaysia only. Malaysian legendary singer, Khatijah Ibrahim is back as a permanent jury with Dato 'Ramli MS. The hosts for this season still retain the leading comedian duo Nabil Ahmad and Jihan Muse. This year, there is a difference for this edition because no participants involved from abroad are involved as in previous seasons due to the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic due to safety and health factors to deal with this pandemic.

Raising the theme of Gegar Vaganza 2021's Different Dimensions (Bintang Kembali Menyengat) on the New Norm scale, this eighth season will take place according to standard operating procedures (SOP) set by the government as the country is still under the National Recovery Plan (PPN) Phase 4 due to the pandemic, COVID-19 in Malaysia. With various changes implemented in order to comply with the conditions and guidelines of SOPs set by the government, including the organization of weekly concerts on a small scale with a small number of spectators that is only 150 spectators are allowed to watch and must meet the conditions set by the government that is only complete Only the Vaccinated or Fully Vaccinated are allowed to enter to watch in the Studio.
