With oldies playing on the jukebox, a Japanese woman enjoys a steak while American soldiers down plates of fried rice. This is the classic drive-in restaurant just off the main road on Okinawa Prefecture. Opened when Okinawa were still under the U.S. rule, it retains the flavor of 1960s America. In this episode, we meet a man who came from Taiwan over 30 years ago, the bride of an American soldier, young Okinawans looking for work, and others who come to taste the soul food of Okinawa.
